Roll Out the Barrels

Bcaa9_2

More characters for BCAA. Seems like I'm making a career out of drawing people in barrels. Okay, maybe I ain't exactly a millionaire, but I can't complain if I'm getting paid to draw people in barrels. Because I enjoy drawing people in barrels.

Hairy Business

Roth

Good advice, David Lee Roth. I wrote this week's Pop Eye column in the Georgia Straight. Just for fun. Owoo.

Click the link for the enjoyment.

I Cover the Waterfront

The Georgia Straight - Originally I wanted this to be more of a waterfront setting, reflecting Vancouver's blatant "wide open for nefarious business" status, but quite sanely decided that maybe this wasn't the time or place, so I toned it down. Glad I was able to editorialize just a leetle beet though... And with the garbage, managed to sneak in a reference to our ongoing city workers' strike that's made our city such a sparkling jewel this summer.

(And gee, I wonder if Vancouver readers picked Starbucks for best coffee - again.)

Late Afternoon Sunrise

A Chinese market in Japantown. Except that Japantown is pretty much gone, virtually obliterated by urban blight. (Oblighterated?) I've been through some stinking shit-holes in my day, but nothing I've seen compares to Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

But this alley behind the market was a rather colourful sight amid the filth and chaos.

Giggin' Galore!

Bcitygrenadiers

Inspired by a Holsten beer label for no particular reason. Or I'm guessing that I was maybe enjoying a refreshing Holsten when I had the sketchbook out... I'm not sure if the whole thing really works, but I'm not too busted up about it. It's all about the honing, possibly the crafting. And I've been itching to rip off the groovy Kal Tire colour scheme. No, really.

Beer and tires and rock and roll!

Codgers Galore!

BC Auto Assoc. Promo - I rather liked the way this old fella' turned out. He probably has great stories about persnickety polecats and onion hats.
