Here is my "official" bio:
Rod Filbrandt is a Vancouver-based cartoonist and illustrator. Chief among his influences are film noir, grade-Z detective novels, Looney Tunes, and an ill-spent youth combing the bars and cocktail lounges of the world, from New Orleans to Bangkok. His work has appeared in the Village Voice, Details, the Georgia Straight, Entertainment Weekly, and many other fine publications.
Here's another one:
Cartoonist, illustrator, film-maker, and convivial sybarite, Rod Filbrandt has pushed pencil and brush for many a quality periodical, including The Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly, Details, The Georgia Straight, and Seattle Weekly. Recently venturing into the fascinating and challenging world of balloon animals, Rod is now available for children's birthday parties and bar mitzvahs
And another:
Now into his late eighties, Rod Filbrandt has been a hoary mainstay on Vancouver's pop-art scene since Prohibition, when he began his Pulitzer Prize-winning comic strip "Dry Shave" out of a delirium tremens-induced stupour. Dividing his time between homes in Vancouver, Rangoon, and Paris (Texas), Filbrandt endeavors to this day to "dig what the kids are layin' down" by stealing their stuff.
As you can see, I have some difficulty putting these things into a nutshell. So let's just skip it.
A weblog being so idiot-friendly, Chowderhead Bazoo is basically now my defacto website. No dream journals, no political rants (don't tempt me), and certainly no updates on my every move - unless of course I suddenly become wildly fascinating.
Nope, I want to keep things simple, and while some extracurricular activities may be documented, it's mostly about the work, whether it's animation, cartooning, book projects, gallery stuff, or the fine art of not having a real job.
It's a living.
Insert wacky list here.
